Before your session
Where is your office?
My studio is located at 543 Castro St (between 18th and 19th) in a beautiful Edwardian office space with a collective of healing practitioners. The office is 1 1/2 blocks from Castro muni station, (F, K, L, M lines) and 1 block from the 24 and 33 bus stops. Parking in the area is metered and can vary so leave plenty of time. Try the residential side streets. Make yourself comfortable with a cup of tea in our waiting room before your session or to transition afterwards.

How should I prepare for a session?
Before your session, consider your intention. Where are you wanting support? What are you looking to move through? What’s in the way of your freedom of expression?

Plan enough time to arrive at your appointment unhurried. If you realize you are going to be late, please don’t rush. We’ll fit as much of your session into the remaining time as possible. Regular session fee applies. You’re welcome to phone me if you want to notify me that you’ll be late.

Please call me if you realize that you won’t be able to come for your session. Please be aware of my 24 hour cancellation policy. Any sessions cancelled or changed with less than 24 hours notice will be billed at the full rate. If you need to notify me of a need to reschedule, please call rather than email.
During Your Session
How does the session begin?
When you come for your first session you’ll fill out a brief intake form, which we’ll go over together. At the beginning of every session we’ll talk about your health and your intentions for receiving bodywork. This is a time for you to share about anything that may be moving through your life and your body. Its also useful for me to hear how you felt after your last session. I take all of this into consideration so that I can work with you where you are in the moment.
Do I have to completely undress?
Do I have to completely undress?
No, you don’t. You can disrobe as far as you feel comfortable. Generally it’s easier for me to do my work if you are completely disrobed. Rest assured that I keep you impeccably draped except for the part that I am working on — you are never fully exposed.
Can you tell me what is causing my pain?
Can you tell me what is causing my pain?
Honestly, I am not a doctor and cannot diagnose what is causing your pain. However, using a combination of my experience and your own body wisdom, we can work together to correct holding patterns and old habits that may be causing your pain. It may take a few sessions and some work on your part to see lasting results.
Can I make noise during the session?
Can I make noise during the session?
By all means, make sounds. It helps release pent up energy. Go ahead laugh, sigh, groan, cry. It’s all good for you.
After your session

Aftercare recommendations may include ice, heat, stretching, epsom salt baths, calming foods, etc. Consider taking some quiet time to let the work sink in. It is important to drink lots of water. Massage releases toxins from your organs and tissues and water helps in the elimination process. Be careful about consuming alcohol after your massage, you may feel the effects more strongly.
Is word of mouth important to you?
Is word of mouth important to you?
Yes, very much! If you enjoyed your session, please talk about it with people in your life, including friends, family, and co-workers. Consider sharing the benefits from the session and how much better you feel after receiving my work.
