Restorative yoga is conscious rest in well supported, nurturing poses. Unlike active practices of yoga, a session of Restorative includes only a few poses held for about twenty minutes each. Restorative Yoga activates the resting systems of the body which leads to deep replenishment, equal to several hours’ sleep. Restorative Yoga is the perfect antidote to a stress-filed life.

According to Judith Lasater “for our ancestors, a stressful situation usually resolved itself quickly … modern people are often unable to resolve our stress so directly, and we live chronically stressed as a result. Still responding to the fight-or-flight response, the adrenals continue to pump stress hormones . . . Even sleep is disturbed by this agitated state.”

Restorative yoga is an extremely gentle practice and is suitable for all bodies regardless of age, size, injuries, flexibility.
